Go Deeper

As a community, we care greatly about knowing God and growing in faith. If you’re new to Christianity, we’d love to invite you to explore with us; we hope you find our talks and discussions an open place for tough questions and helpful for you. But, whether you’re here for the first time or have been a Christian for years, we’d also love to invite you to go deeper in theology and doctrine.

THE SPURGEONS

The Spurgeons is a group within Trinity Church who are committed to understanding and teaching the Bible better. We meet semi-regularly to develop our skills in biblical interpretation and especially preaching. Most summers members of the Spurgeons group preach several times at our Sunday services. There are also opportunities to speak in other neighbouring churches.

For more information, or if you are interested in joining this group, please get in touch.

THE BIBLE

I want to know one thing,—the way to heaven; how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach me the way. For this very end He came from heaven. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God!” - John Wesley

CAN WE TRUST THE BIBLE?

Is the Bible clear and sufficient?

How do I deal with apparent difficulties and contradictions in the Bible?

Is the God of the Old Testament simply violent and petty?

ATTRIBUTES OF GOD

What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us"

- AW Tozer: The Knowledge of the Holy

So many of the problems in our church stem from small or incomplete views of God. Is God just a Superman figure, or does he stand above and beyond everything we can imagine? A right view of God's majesty, holiness, power, love, patience and beautiful character is the best antidote to a life of trial and difficulty.

CREATION

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth..." Controversial and yet foundational words. How ought we as Christians rightly to think about God as creator? How does that impact our lives?
