We believe the Gospel

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, ...This is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
— The Apostle Paul, 1 Corinthians 15:1–4, 11
Jesus

Jesus

Trinity Church is first and foremost a gospel church. The Apostle Paul describes this as ‘of first importance.’ The gospel, or Good News, is the message that Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose again as our assurance that all those who put their faith in him enjoy reconciliation with God and eternal resurrection life.

The Bible

The Bible

This is the central message of the Bible; it is ‘according to the Scriptures’. Our aim is teach the whole message of the Bible emphasising what is of first importance, but also showing how its message makes sense of the whole world and our whole lives, for all of time. We believe this gives life, sets people free and saves them.

We are governed by the FIEC Doctrinal Basis, which is a slightly longer statement of the core beliefs that mainstream churches have believed for 2000 years.

Our practices

We try to be clear on matters of ‘first importance’ but allow some liberty of conscience on less central matters.

Therefore, for instance, though we practice and teach believers’ baptism - since we believe that baptism is the sign given to those who have personally decided to follow Christ - nevertheless church membership is open to those who are convinced, from their reading the bible, that infants may be baptised.

We are also a congregationally governed church. This means that the church is led by a local group of elders but church members are ultimately responsible for all matters of life and doctrine within the church.

Our relationships

We are part of several networks and have warm relationships and partnerships with numerous local, national and international ministries. You can find links below to some of our key partners:
